In July 2006, Pontchartrain Yacht Club was to be the host club of the Ida Lewis Regatta. Unfortunatlely, hurricane Katrina destroyed our Yacht Club on August 29th, 2005. All GYA Yacht clubs on the Gulf Coast from Alabama to west Louisiana were destroyed, along with many members homes and businesses.

Milwaukee Yacht Club graciously agreed to host the 2006 event, allowing Pontchartrain Yacht Club to host it this year, 2007.

The new club is under construction and is nearing completion! We are proud of our new clubhouse and are excited about hosting the prestigous Junior Women's Doublehanded National Championship for the Ida Lewis Cup. PYC House and Ground Rules	(Click for more construction photos)
